On Friday March 3rd the Harrison County Republican Club participated in a "Get Out The Vote" fish-fry rally at Vintage Station in Gulfport. The event drew a crowd of more than 200. Many of our elected officials were present and we heard remarks from Congressman Steven Palazzo, Governor Phil Bryant and Senator Roger Wicker.

On Thursday Feb 23rd the Harrison County Republican Club hosted an evening social featuring United States Senator Roger Wicker. Senator Wicker joined a crowd of over 100 at Lookout Steakhouse. Senator and Mrs. Wicker spent close to 2hrs with our members and spoke on the uncommon role that MS will play in the March 13th Presidential Primary.

At our February 15th lunch we were joined by Congressional Candidate Ron Vincent and Congressman Steven Palazzo's District Director Hunter Lipscomb. Both Vincent and Lipscomb provided updates on their respective campaigns. Hunter Lipscomb also provided an update on current Congressional activity. We also heard from Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney's National Finance Chairman Austin Barbour. Austin spoke at length about the Presidential Primary and why he believes Governor Mitt Romney is the best choice to lead the GOP against President Obama.

Our most recent meeting was January 18th and included presentations by Gulfport Mayor George Schloegel and State Republican Party Chairman Joe Nosef. As Chairman of the PERS Commission, Mayor Schloegel spoke at length about the current viability of the PERS system and what needs to be done to correct its shortfall. Republican Party Chairman Joe Nosef provided commentary on his role in the party and also spoke about his goals for the upcoming year. Chairman Nosef also spoke about the United Republican Fund and its importance in providing a revenue stream for our party.
