    24th ANNUAL BARBECUE UNDER THE OAKS

    The Harrison County Republican Club is excited to announce that we will have a cooking team in this year's event. See below for more information. I hope to see many of you there.

    A relaxed, family-friendly themed event, held in the shade of dozens of centuries-old oaks. The event features the friendly competitive spirit of about 30 cooking teams ("Ribmeisters") as they try to "out-do" each other to create the most succulent, smoky, fall-off-the bone barbecue delicacies to thrill the crowds, along with a wide array of traditional down home "fixins" and even gourmet accoutrements.

    Guests sample the barbecue specialties until full...at this "all-you-can-eat" occasion! In addition to enjoying the barbecue meal, guests enjoy music and checking out the items up for bid in the silent auction tent. Children enjoy as well...as they head towards the play area to have their faces painted, take a ride on a "train", and have fun with the blow-up bouncy house and slide! This year's theme is "Olympigs!" Don't miss this Fabulous, FUN, FOOD event!  Proceeds benefit The Gulf Coast Symphony!

    **Barbecue under the Oaks received the "Awards of Excellence" by the League of American Symphonies Volunteer Council, as one of the best fundraising events in the nation!
